BIG NEWS!!!
My guinea pig Zara popcorned!!!!!! Popcorning: When a guinea pig is really happy they jump up and down, this is called popconing. Once, I gave Zara her favorite yogurt treat by the side of her cage when she put her front paws up on it. Now, whenever I put her in she goes to that spots and puts her fornt paws on it. If that doesn't get my attention then she goes into begging position. She was so cute so I fed her some carrots, red pepper, and two pieces of parsley. Then, I started to open the yogurt treat packet in their cage and Autumn came over. They got really excited and started to jump all over the packet and my hand. I gave them both two, and they ate them so fast I wasn't sure if I had actually given them any. I closed the cage and tried to ignore their pleads for more; succeding I filled up their pellets and hay. It was almost impossible to ignore them with their cute little faces and when they are begging they look even cuter. It was then that I noticed that Zara was jumping all around the cage and I realized that she was popcorning! I am so pleased that I made my guinea pig super happy and feel like jumping all around the cage!

Parts of my New Story
When I was a little girl, I loved the beautiful Mulberry tree in our wild, rambling garden. I used to play on a wooden swing that my father had put up and climb in it's branches. I would lie on top of it's branches for hours, just thinking and wondering about different things. In spring I would sit under it's shade and eat a slice of mulberry pie while sipping a mulberry smoothie. It used to amaze me how many dishes you could make just from some mulberries. Sometimes, I would eat then plain, and if they were perfectley ripe, then they would taste delicously sweet and with the just right amount of tartness.
I loved that tree with all my heart, it had become part of me and I shared so many memories with it. I had vowed to protect it forever but just today I came home from school to find that it was gone, all that remained was a stump. Tears started to run down my cheeks and loud sobs burst from my throat. That tree had been more than a tree to me, it had been a friend, sure I had other friends, but they haven't been around for more than 100 years. I ran to the front door of my house, my mother was waiting for me and when she saw my face I could tell that she felt guiltey.
"Now Miranda, I want you to be strong," she started, nervously flicking her brown hair behind her. She was biting her lip and her eyes darted from place to place. I had never seen her like this before. I waited, glaring at her. "You know that the apprasior is coming this week," pausing she took a deep breath,"Well, the mulberry tree was blocking our veiw and I hired some men to cut it down so we could get more money for the house."
"YOU WHAT!!" I screamed in her face, I was furious, "You basicly cut down a big part of my life, just for some apprasior!" I managed not to shout anymore but I was still fuming.

The following night I dreamed of the Mulberry tree. There it stood in the garden, a hopeful stump with tender shoots sprouting from it. It was starting a new life, remembering and flourishing on it's past. I vow to be like that, I will remember and move on, embracing each new day as a day I will always remember.

Autumn and Zara
I got some toys for my guinea pigs today. They really enjoyed rustling around in the paper bags and loved eating from the tube filled with Timothy Hay. I got a chewing block for them, it's made of pumis, but I can't really tell if they have chewed on it yet. They are getting used to me and are more calm now. When I tried to give them a bath they jumped out of the sink and the sink is about a foot high, maybe higher. They absolutly positively HATE water. I have found out that Autumn is more afraid of water then Zara.

BIG NEWS FLASH!!!!
Hey everybody, I got two female guinea pigs. My first ever animals, beside silkworms. They are soooo cute. I named them Autumn and Zara. Autumn is trio colored, and Zara is all dark brown except for light brown on her stomach. Zara also had one white arm, which is absolutly adorable. Zara also is a longhaired and has a mowhak on her head. Lol. I should go feed them their light snack before dinner. Oh, and Autumn is shorthaired.
